Sportrock Climbing Guides (SRCG)
Rock climbing instruction designed for indoor climbers looking to transfer their skills outdoors, and experienced outdoor climbers looking to sharpen their skill set.
Since our first courses at Carderock following Sportrock’s launch in 1994, Sportrock Climbing Guides is among the oldest full-service guiding companies still operating on the east coast. Located in the Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia area, we seek to build on our legacy of quality instruction in a comfortable, community-focused environment to deliver the best adventures and climbing education on the planet.
Outdoor-Focused Classes & Clinics
We’ve been teaching climbers in the DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia area for almost 30 years. We are proud to offer some of the smallest class sizes in the industry, for the best possible learning environment. We teach classes on toprope anchor building, self-rescue, trad climbing, and more.
Our unique Multi-Pitch Ledge at our Alexandria location allows us to teach outdoor climbing skills in the controlled setting of the climbing gym.
If you’re looking for a memorable corporate teambuilding event, a fun family outing, or an end-of-season finale for your team or club, our guides will go above and beyond to make your event a success. No prior experience required, and we can tailor events to all ages and group goals.
Want to climb outside, but don’t know where to start? Prefer to learn in a private setting, with instruction tailored exactly to your goals?
Our guides provide customized instruction and trips to a wide range of local venues. Examples include gym-to-crag instruction at Great Falls, or your first multi pitch climb at Seneca Rocks.
Let Sportrock Climbing Guides plan your next vacation so that you can focus on sending! From the beaches of Sicily to the limestone canyons of northern Spain, we offer full service national and international guided vacation packages. We offer several destination trips a year, or can customize one for your group!
