USA Climbing Rope Regionals

USA Climbing Rope Regionals will be a single-day youth rope competition taking palace at Sportrock Rio. The day after Regionals we will also host a fun friendly member rope competition we are calling Rope Rendezvous. Competitors will have the opportunity to win free months of membership, gift cards, and swag bags from our sponsors!
When is Regionals?
Saturday 5/11/24
6:30 AM - 9:00 PM
Routesetting will take place from Monday (5/6) to Friday (5/10).
All climbing on The Pillar left of the Speedwall will be closed during the routesetting period.
Member Information
All of the climbs will be on or around the Pillar with great views for spectating!
To keep member impact as low as possible, the following areas will remain open Saturday, May 11th during the competition:

All lanes in Lakeside to the right of the Speed Wall

The Upper Ropes
-
The Pool Boulders
-
Half of the Backcourt boulders

The other half will be used as an athlete warm-up area for competitors.

On the day of the event, May 11th, we want to ensure a safe and private environment for all athletes. As per youth sport safety regulations, the downstairs restrooms, locker rooms, showers, and saunas will be closed to the public.
The upstairs restrooms and showers will remain open to the public. Additionally, the Rio Complexes restrooms near the AMC will also be accessible.
Parent Information
All of the climbs will be on our best walls for spectating, we have some nooks and crannies in the gym that are hard to fit spectators in, and we avoided all of them for this comp. All parents will have a clear view of their athletes' climbs!

Sunday, May 12th | 1:00 PM - 6:30 PM
The day after the USA Climbing Youth Regional Event, we're hosting Rope Rendezvous - a top rope/lead climbing competition for members and guests!
Whether you’re a seasoned climber or just starting out, we’ve got something for everyone. Test your skills and endurance in our redpoint competition. Open to all ages and abilities, it’s the perfect opportunity to push your limits and have fun!
After you finish climbing, hang out with our very own routesetting team; food will be provided. It's a great chance to relax, refuel, and chat with the masterminds behind the routes you love.
Active Sportrock Members can participate in Rope Rendezvous for FREE! Non-members can register for $30.
Categories & Prize Information
Rope Rendezvous will have eight total categories:

Male Beginner (5.6 - 5.7), Intermediate (5.8 - 5.9), Advanced (5.10 - 5.11), Open (5.12 - 5.13+)

Female Beginner (5.6 - 5.7), Intermediate (5.8 - 5.9), Advanced (5.10 - 5.11), Open (5.12 - 5.13+)
1st through 3rd place across all categories will receive the same prize for their respective place. There will additionally be prize bundles with swag from event sponsors! Your score will be calculated based on your top 3 climbs.
1st Place: FREE One Month of Membership
2nd Place: $50 Sportrock Gift Card
3rd Place: $25 Sportrock Gift Card
