Summertime blues? > We have the cure.
We know the value of a smile at the end of the day. It's a small reminder of why we teach kids climbing. It's because learning to climb is fun, and because it encourages learning general life skills that can be applied every day. Our Summer Rock Climbing Camp doesn't set out to make kids all-star rock climbers but rather helps kids find ways to…
Solve problems
Make good decisions
Act as team players
Learn respect for others
Enjoy physical recreation and the outdoors, and
Do something healthy for their growing bodies.

Sportrock's five-day curriculum introduces children to rock climbing, both indoors and out. Our course is centered on our indoor facilities where we spend four of the five camp days. The indoor gyms allow us to better control the climate and the terrain thereby enhancing the learning atmosphere and ensuring that each child receives all the attention, guidance and instruction they need and deserve.

On one of the days the camp travels outdoors to Great Falls National Park Virginia . The outdoor class is a day of fun and adventure as our instructors guide the kids on and around real rock, learning to climb on it, about how it got there and how to preserve it for future generations.

A brief look at the week's exciting activities for campers…

Have fun climbing!

What Our Instructors Know
Our instructors know that camp is a great time for kids to learn about themselves and those around them. They know that building trust is a huge responsibility, and it's one they take seriously. Whether it's managing safety systems or teaching children new skills, they are dedicated to ensuring that no matter what the day may bring everyone is comfortable.

In addition to being experienced climbers, our instructors are also trained in the care of children. This translates to people who are prepared for all types of situations. They are versed in accident prevention measures and emergency procedures. All possess First Aid and CPR certifications with outdoor instructors additionally certified as American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) Top Rope Instructors.
