A “must take” class if you want to start climbing outside on your own. The goal of the class is to learn how to set up safe anchor systems where the belayer is at the bottom of the cliff. You’ll learn and practice several new knots and methods for setting up bomber top rope anchor systems as well as spend time climbing. Location: Great Falls National Park
The emphasis of this class is to learn safe, redundant anchor systems, where the belayer is at the top of the cliff. This is especially useful when the descent is treacherous or if belaying from the bottom is not an option. This class will also include instruction on rappelling, learning new knots and an introduction on how to build solid top rope anchors using gear placed in natural features. Participants will have time to practice the skills learned and climb.
The goal of this course is to transition the climber into a safe, smart and effective leader. The course focuses on anchor systems, placement of protection, rappelling w/backup and belay station selection, set up and management. A short block on self-rescue is included. To check availability or to schedule email Jason. Location: Seneca Rocks,WV
