Junior Team

The Sportrock Junior Teams are a great way for kids to get started climbing and increase their climbing knowledge and skills. Team members from Recreational to Competative have the opportunity to improve their climbing technique, undestanding of safety, make friends, and build a passion for climbing under the supervision of our talented Junior team coaches.  Our coaches are dedicated to the personal guidance and instruction needed to achieve our each Junior Team Member's full potential. We emphasis sportsmanship, positive attitudes, and character building.

Sessions include a wide array of instruction in safety skills and climbing techniques, as well as games and team-building exercises. Each Sportrock facility has several teams at varying skill levels (recreational, advanced, and competitive) that meets at least once a week. The advanced and competitive level teams attend competitions and outdoor climbing events year round. The recreational team maintains a more relaxed and social atmosphere.

Admittance to Junior Team usually requires a FREE try out given during the recreational sessions (see below) each month in all gyms.
Please email the Junior Team Directors ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Junior Team climbers are required to be Sportrock members.

Our competative Junior Team has a national reputation for outstanding climbers who have placed in the national top five of their divisions each year. In 2008 Sport Climbing Series Sportrock took 4 places in the top 10 and Sportrock's junior Team placed 7th overall in 2009 American Bouldering Series.
