Sometimes the best way to climb is in a group. It helps foster learning and can be an excellent way to bond with your groupmates. And it's just plain fun! Sportrock offers a number of options.

Climbing Merit Badge Program

- The Sportrock Climbing Merit Badge Course for the Boy Scouts of America is a cutting-edge program that teaches Scouts the many enjoyable and practical skills associated with indoor and outdoor rock climbing. The Sportrock Climbing Merit Badge Course is two days long: The first day of the program is held indoors at one of three facilities. Scouts will focus their energy the first day on learning many aspects of top roping, from knot usage to belaying. On the second day, Scouts will travel to either Great Falls or Carderock to learn and practice anchor set-up, rappelling, climbing site conservation tactics and much more.
- When: Two-day long program from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. both days

- We offer a flexible corporate program that can be tailored to your specific needs. Whether you're looking for a fun outing or serious team-building skills or anything in between, we can create a program designed to accomplish your goals.
- Have Fun: Climbing is a fun activity! Get your team out of the office for a couple hours of fun climbing and cheering each other on.
- Build Teamwork: Sportrock retains trained and experienced team-building professionals. We can help you achieve your team-building goals through workshops and activities held in our gyms or at your office. And remember that climbing in and of itself requires interpersonal cooperation so that teamwork is incorporated to some extent in everything we do.
- Provide an Alternative Fitness Activity: Corporate membership programs are available for those firms with fitness benefits. Provide a fitness alternative to traditional gyms by including Sportrock in your program.

Group Basic Skills

- If you've never climbed before and want an experience that your troop, co-workers, church members or friends will be able to use time and time again, the Basic Skills group is perfect. This class teaches participants the basic safety skills of climbing including how to put on a harness, tie into the rope and belay for a partner. Upon completion novices will have the safety skills needed to use Sportrock facilities on an unsupervised basis. Novices will also get coupons for reduced rates on a return visit and our popular Fast Forward Wall Contact and Sequencing class.
